In this course Ustadh Mu’aawiyah Tucker will take you through the journey starting from the trade routes of Palestine and Yemen, discussing one of the often neglected features of early Arab culture, trade. We will then continue that journey to understand what money and wealth is, what does money represent and discussing one of the many reasons why RIBA is so harmful to society. We will discover how we got paper money and how the current global system works from the ground up from an economic aspect.
At this point, once the foundation has been laid and set, we will briefly touch upon some of the ways in which Islam has shown us how to make money and manage it. We will touch upon how Covid 19 revealed the reality of how we’ve been living our financial lives and what to expect post Covid. From the many things you will see is how Islam fulfils its promise to ‘protect wealth’ but showing you how wealth today has been abused and manipulated in todays current global system, and how you can begin to escape from that system.
Earning money is of huge significance to a Muslim that unfortunately many have mistakenly shunned and looked down upon. Making money and making a profit is almost evil to some people, and socialist ideals have filtered through to the Muslim psyche, behaviour and language. This course will burst that myth, demonstrate that ‘Profit’ is at the core of Islam and something required for all Muslims to acquire.
